I assist food manufacturers, that have flour, sugar, oil, cocoa, coffee and dairy input costs in the P&L of their company. I do so by advising them how to use the futures markets to be strategic in their purchasing decisions. I also renegotiate the processing fees on these input costs of their commodity ingredients.
Ultimately, it is about making better decisions based on data, rather than on “gut”, as well as avoiding the peaks in the market. Enhancing the bottom line is the key metrics in all roles in a company.
I get to do my job for companies where I can make a difference, be appreciated, and do what I have spent and enjoyed 30+ years doing, which is commodity markets.
